The Applied Training Project (ATP) is one of the eight projects of the
Shared Vision Program (SVP) of the
Nile Basin Initiative (NBI). It aims at strengthening individual and institutional capacity needed by Nile Basin countries for managing water resources in integrated manner.
ATP is offering scholarships for MSc and PhD studies and providing training institutions with IWRM postgraduate modular curriculum and teaching materials. Strengthened institutions along with well trained professionals are expected to sustain training in water related fields and support research and integrated water resources management.
The ATP is also offering focused short courses to practitioners to update and upgrade their knowledge and skills, and thus equip them for more effectiveness and efficiency in policy formulation/review or revision, in planning, development and management of Nile Basin water resources.
Moreover, the Nile Net is providing a forum for fostering confidence and cooperation of water professionals across the basin and promotes exchange of knowledge and skills through workshops, visit tours and internet platform.
